How dose the treatment work?

Chemical peel treatments, are an accelerated exfoliation of the skin induced by chemical agents. The results of the skin peel will depend

on the strength of the chemical agents used, the type of active ingredients incorporated into the peel and the individual's skin type.

Peeling agents cause an increased shedding of dead skin cells and outer skin layers. This results in skin renewal and assists with the reduction or disappearance of sun damage, pigmentation, acne lesions, fine lines and wrinkles.

What areas can be treated?
Skin peel treatments are commonly performed on the face and neck. However the hands, décolletage and upper back can also be treated for acne related issues and sun damaged.
 
How many treatments are recommended? 

A skincare consultation is essential prior to a chemical peel to determine the most suitable type of peel and the recommended frequency of treatment.

How often can Skin Peel treatments be performed?

Depending on the peel type, treatments are performed at two to six week intervals. This allows for your skin to heal, rejuvenate and create new collagen.

What is the downtime and are there any side effects?

Most superficial or lighter intensity peels have very minimal to no downtime, whereas medium and deeper peels require careful pre-peel preparation and post-peel care. All peel pre-preparation instructions must be followed to prepare the skin for peel treatments and to lessen the chance of any potential risks. After a peel you may experience slightly redden skin similar to the look of a sunburn, minor skin dryness or some skin flaking. These are all very normal reactions and will usually subside and heal quickly within a few days post treatment.
Deeper peels will increase the likelihood of experiencing common side effects, with sometimes a slightly longer recovery time compared to the lighter peels. Some side effects that can occur include minor swelling, redness and skin flaking. Overall peels are generally a safe and 

effective treatment that will leave your skin looking fabulous and more youthful!
